Top 5 Sugar Free Staples

Today I’m sharing with you my top 5 sugar-free staples that we cannot live without in the Hanway house. Whilst I now offer online programs for everyone – from those just starting out on their wellness journey (peep my new program, that launches in November) through to those looking to improve their gut health or boost their metabolism (see), one common thread that runs throughout them all is eliminating added sugar from your diet and I’m here to make that easy (and delicious) for you.

What do I mean when I talk about added sugar? Whilst there are many different definitions, I qualify added sugar as any caloric sweeteners that have been added to food by the manufacturer. So this does not include foods that contain naturally occurring carbohydrates or fruit but does include any food that has added sugar, syrups, or honey.

Here are our current top 5 sugar-free staples:

1) Plant-Based Yoghurt

It’s amazing how many brands sneak added sugar into their yogurts, which is why I always recommend reading the label. However, you are 100% safe with Lavva as all of their products are free from added sugar. As an added bonus they are also made with probiotics that actually function at the gut level, and are packed with skin-loving and hunger-satiating healthy fats. 2) Protein Powder

It’s rare to find a great tasting protein powder that is sugar free, but I have 2 suggestions for you depending on your diet style. For my omnivores I recommend Equip Foods Grass Fed Beef Protein (click for a discount), for my vegans and vegetarians I recommend

3) Cereal

Cereal has been the one food that has been so hard for me to find a #JennyApproved brand for, and it’s only in the last month that I have found a product I love that is both grain-free and sugar-free. Lovebird Cereal is grain free and has an unsweetened version that I just can’t get enough of. Whilst it is a little on the pricey side a portion of their profits are donated to beating childhood cancer, and just as with all small businesses the more people buy, the more affordable they can make their prices. They have however provided my audience with an exclusive 10% discount when you use

4) Sauces

We love Primal Kitchen Foods as all of their products are gluten, dairy, grain, sugar, and soy-free. Specifically, we live for their sauces (especially their ketchup of which we use about 3 bottles a week) as they are a great way to add flavor to a clean eating meal and interest to a meal. Aside from their ketchup, you’ll always find their pasta sauces and salad dressings in our kitchen for when we want a quick and easy meal in minutes. We buy ours from

5) Protein Bars

Our go-to protein bars are as they have super clean ingredients (meat, nuts, and a little dried fruit) and have a good ratio of protein to carbohydrates. Second are which are a little high in carbs for every day but are a good option when in a pinch, and for my vegans and vegetarians,  bars are my first choice.
