Top 5 Pantry Foods For Glowing Skin

Has the combination of being stuck inside, stress, and lack of a healthy eating routine got your skin looking a little less than glowing? Don’t worry – I’ve got you! Here are some of my favorite store cupboard staples that will help you get your glow back, and have you looking fresh and youthful for that zoom meeting or IG Live – no filter needed!

Canned Salmon:

Wild Alaskan salmon is one of the best sources of Omega 3 fatty acids, which can often be low in our modern-day diets. Omega 3 fatty acids help keep our cellular membranes healthy, which is essential for plump, glowing skin. It’s also a great source of Vitamin D, Vitamin D can help dermatitis, psoriasis, acne, and rosacea, and can help protect skin from UV damage.

Chia Seeds:

If fish isn’t your jam then chia seeds are a great plant-based source of Omega 3 fatty acids. They are also a great source of soluble fiber which is essential for detoxification, and the more efficient our detoxification the more our skin glows!

Tahini:

Tahini is a paste made of sesame seeds, which are rich in the mineral zinc. Zinc has anti-inflammatory properties and can help with skin redness, dermatitis, and rosacea. It’s also high in calcium and stress-busting B vitamins – and we all need a little help with stress relief right now! ⠀

Dark Chocolate:

Dark chocolate is packed full of anti-aging phytochemicals that both turn off cell aging and prevent cells from further damage! It releases our feel-good neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine (remember, the happiest girls are the prettiest) and it’s also high in magnesium that can help calm the nervous system.

Bone Broth:

Bone broth contains specific amino acids such as glycine, proline, hydroxyproline, and arginine, which help boost collagen production in the skin. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body, and helps keep our skin lifted, firm and supple (as well as helping keep our muscles, joints, hair skin, and nails healthy).
