Ground turkey is a staple protein source in my house – its quick to cook, affordable and keeps well in the freezer for easy weeknight dinners. These new Thai Inspired Turkey Burgers are the perfect vehicle for ground turkey to keep it fresh and interesting and are great if you are trying to add interest to a lower carb diet.
The turkey burgers and Greek yogurt dipping sauce are both high in protein, which boosts your metabolism by increasing your lean muscle mass, meaning your body burns more calories at rest. The healthy fats from the almond flour and coconut aminos also provide sustained energy and help stabilize blood sugar levels, reducing cravings and supporting weight management.
Greek yogurt and fresh herbs are packed with antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties. Greek yogurt contributes to glowing skin with its probiotics and lactic acid, while cilantro and ginger provide antioxidants that help protect your skin from damage and promote a clear complexion. The healthy fats in the turkey burgers help maintain skin elasticity and hydration, giving you a natural, radiant glow.
In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground turkey, almond flour, chopped cilantro, minced garlic, grated ginger, coconut aminos, fish sauce, red curry paste, salt, and pepper. Squeeze in the lime juice and add the chopped green onions.
Mix everything together until well combined. The mixture should hold together well but still be moist. If the mixture feels too wet, you can add a little more almond flour.
Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into patties. Depending on the size you prefer, you should get about four to six patties.
Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium heat and add a small amount of coconut oil. Once the oil is hot, add the turkey patties to the pan.
Cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown on the outside and cooked through on the inside. The internal temperature should reach 165°F (74°C). These are also perfect for cooking in an air fryer.
Serve the Thai-inspired turkey burgers with lettuce wraps, sliced avocado, cucumber ribbons, or your favorite low carb sides and this dipping sauce.
In a mixing bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, coconut aminos, lime juice, fish sauce, honey or maple syrup, and red curry paste. Whisk together until smooth and well combined.
Stir in the minced garlic, grated ginger, chopped cilantro, and chopped green onions. If you’re using sesame oil, add it now for a subtle nutty flavor.
Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste. Adjust the seasoning or sweetness according to your preference.
Cover and refrigerate the dipping sauce for at least 15-20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
Serve the Thai-inspired Greek yogurt dipping sauce alongside your turkey burgers.
