Low Carb Lunch: Salmon and Avocado Beauty Boats

Why are avocados and salmon in my top ten foods for healthy skin? Both of them are great sources of healthy fats that help keep your skin looking firm and youthful. This is because every cell in your body (including your skin cells) has a cellular membrane, or ‘cell wall’ that is made of fat.

When you eat a diet high in healthy fats, such as the Omega 9 fat found in avocados, or the Omega 6 found in the wild salmon, our cellular membranes get the best building blocks to become plump, hydrated and able to absorb the nutrients needed for glowing skin.

  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • Pinch of Himalayan salt and pepper
