Sugar-Free Smoothie Recipe: Pumpkin Spice Breakfast Smoothie

Healthy breakfast smoothies like this sugar-free mocha one are a key tool in my 28 Gut Day Guided Gut Healing Program and 8 Week Lean and Clean Program for weight loss. They make breakfast my favourite part of the day!

 

I don’t know about you, but my Instagram feed has been swamped with Pumpkin Spice recipes this month! So I wanted to take my own spin on it and create a sugar free breakfast smoothie with all of the taste but none of the bad stuff – and I have to say its one of the best breakfast healthy smoothies I’ve ever made!

I’d love for you to ditch the sugar laden, or chemically sweetened pumpkin spice recipes that are so prevalent right now, and give this sugar free smoothie recipe a try. It’s  full of blood sugar balancing fibre from the both the natural pumpkin puree and the cauliflower rice, and packed with plant based protein from New Chapter’s Vanilla Complete Organic Plant Protein+. It’s also sugar free, so it will satisfy any morning sweet cravings without spiking your blood sugar.

If you like a thicker texture for your protein smoothies then try freezing your organic pumpkin puree before using it in your breakfast smoothie recipe – it will make it super thick and creamy, just like a healthy milkshake! I also love that this smoothie is just as nutrient dense and full of vitamins and minerals as a standard green smoothie, and way more effective for health weight loss and blood sugar balance than a typical fruit smoothie.

If you are out of pumpkin puree (or just used it all in your Thanksgiving Pumpkin Pie) then cooked and frozen sweet potato is a great alternative, and is one of my favourite  gut healing foods too as it contains prebiotic fibre that feed our good bacteria.

 

Sugar-Free Pumpkin Spice Breakfast Smoothie Recipe

Yields 1 serving

Ingredients

• 1 serving Vanilla New Chapter Chocolate Complete Organic Plant Protein+

• 1/2 cup pumpkin puree

•1/2 cup frozen cauliflower rice

•1. 5 cups

•1 tablespoon ground flaxseed

•1 tablespoon almond butter

•1/2 teaspoon natural pumpkin spice seasoning

Instructions

  1. Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Then enjoy your healthy breakfast!
